Mapuche silverware.antique piece.late nineteenth century, early twentieth century.jewelry formed by sheets or plates of silver, quadrangular or rounded geometry, are those that best represent the Mapuche silverware. Making jewelry using metal plates is a very old tradition among the Araucanians. Their first metal jewelry, earrings and pins, were made with this type of structure.
The ornithomorphic representation of the three-chain pins, characterized by the figure of two birds, located on the upper plate of these jewels, facing each other and touching by their beaks, are the most striking decorative elements in Mapuche silverware.
