It corresponds to the seven falls of Christ on the road to Calvary. The list is as follows:

Prophecy of Simeon. /2. The flight into Egypt. /3. The loss of the Child Jesus who remains in the temple in the midst of the doctors. /4. Christ with the cross on his shoulders. /5. The crucifixion. /6. The descent from the cross. /7. The burial.

"And you, Mother, a sword of pain will pierce your heart..."
(Luke 2:35)

O Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, abode of purity and holiness, cover my soul with your maternal protection so that being always faithful to the voice of Jesus, I may respond to His love and obey His divine will. I want, my Mother, to live intimately united to your Heart which is totally united to the Heart of your Divine Son. Bind me to your Heart and to the Heart of Jesus with your virtues and sorrows. Protect me always. Amen.
