In the clothing of men and women there are different names for the bags; today there seems to be no great difference between the loom-woven bags for both sexes.there are two types of men's bags, the "huallaque" which apparently served for various uses and the "sonco" which was intended exclusively for coca.
The size of these bags varies according to the regions, those of Ayata are as large as saddlebags and were originally intended for the transport of medicinal plants; those of the Aymara area are relatively small, while those of Calcha and Caiza are medium-sized. All of them, without exception, maintain a decoration similar to the "pallai" of the "llicllas" of the corresponding region. They are formed by a rectangular piece folded on itself and have a thin sash that allows to hang them from the shoulders. They are decorated with bangs and tassels, it is a pre-Columbian piece. The women's bag is called "histalla".
